Starr Music Academy will be moving to a new, expanded location during our two week Spring Break, April 14-28. We have loved being centrally located in historic La Borde House and will stay close by on Main Street in downtown, just one block from our original studio.
Our new location will feature an expanded retail space, two teaching areas including a larger piano lab, a teacher work area and break room, and plenty of storage for our instrument inventory and ever expanding library of educational music, books, games, and activities.
Starr Music Academy’s new address will be 505A E. Main Street in the Hernandez Building complex. It is conveniently accessible from Main Street for easy student drop off, and features dedicated parking at the rear entrance from the alley, as well as overflow parking on Lopez Street. A beautiful garden and bright airy spaces make our new home the perfect place to learn music with friends.
Our expanded facilities will enable us to eventually grow our teaching staff to accommodate even more students! We are so grateful to the staff at La Borde House for making us feel so at home in our original historic location. We plan to continue making music in Starr County for years to come.

Six Starr County students represented their families, schools, and communities in the Magic Valley Music Teachers' Association Boys and Girls Recitals, Saturday October 20 at Valley Keyboards in McAllen.
The Magic Valley Music Teachers' Association is the local chapter of the Texas Music Teachers' Association and the Music Teachers' National Association and sponsors recitals, contests, exams, and events for students of member teachers. The Boys and Girls Recitals allow each teacher to select up to five outstanding students to give a public performance in a formal recital setting.
Representing Starr Music Academy in the Boys' Recital was violinist Victor Adrian Guerra. The Girls' Recital featured Starr Music Academy students Camila Bazan, Emma Escobar, and Neolani Quiroz on piano; and Ayleen Garcia and Brizeida Ramos on violin. Starr Music Academy is under the direction of Ms. Corine Garcia.
