Registration Fee: The down payment registration fee is a percentage of the total cost of the course. The registration fee holds a place for you in the teaching schedule and is non-refundable unless no suitable class or lesson time is available.
Tuition: Studio membership includes your weekly slot in the teaching schedule, books and lesson materials, access to apps used both in-studio and at home, TMTA Student Affiliate membership and activities, and student recitals and performances. Course Information: Most beginning students will be grouped into classes of up to six students based on age and ability. Classes meet once a week for one hour. Private lessons are offered only for advanced students or students for whom no appropriate class is available. Private lessons meet once a week for thirty minutes. Parents are welcome to observe lessons at any time.
Instruments: All students must have an appropriate instrument and accessories for home practice. Tuition does not include the cost of instrument rental, strings, or instrument supplies. Required instrument supplies and replacement strings will be issued when deemed necessary by the instructor. The cost of any needed materials will be added to your bill when issued.

Missed Lessons: No tuition credits are given for missed lessons. We are happy to provide alternate class times (if available) or do a Zoom lesson if a student must miss a class. Any lessons canceled by the instructor will be rescheduled.
Summer Lessons: Scheduling is more flexible during the eight-week summer session to allow for vacation plans. A week-long summer camp is also offered in early June. Priority in the fall schedule is extended to students who attend summer classes or summer camp. A student who chooses to "skip" summer lessons is in jeopardy of losing their place on the teaching schedule for the following school year.
Photo/Video Policy: Starr Music Academy reserves the right to feature photos and videos of its students on the studio website, social media pages, and promotional items. Parents may opt their minor children out of this policy by notifying the studio in writing.
Consent to Video Surveillance System: A video surveillance system is used in the studio when lessons are being provided. This system records every aspect of the activities in the studio. The video obtained from this system will not be used for any purposes other than evaluating the effectiveness of the music instruction being provided and safety concerns. Under no circumstances will the videotape be shown to third parties without parents' consent or pursuant to a court order. By agreeing to this studio policy, authorization is given to videotape the musical instruction lessons being provided.
Health & Safety Policies: For the health and safety of our students and families, studio protocols include, but are not limited to, wearing a face mask or covering, observing physical distancing, frequent hand washing and/or the use of hand sanitizer, online lessons, and any other safety and health protocols the Studio may implement. By agreeing to this policy, parents agree to support the studio's health and safety protocols, understand the inherent risk of contracting or spreading contagion in the course of engaging in music instruction and other activities at the studio, and agree to release the studio from any and all liability arising out of exposure to any contagious health condition resulting from participating in studio activities.
