Thirty-five students of Ms. Corine Garcia Maldonado from Starr Music Academy participated in the Magic Valley Music Teachers Association (MVMTA) Festival program at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg this past November. The students earned a combined total of thirty-seven medals for their outstanding performances on piano, violin, voice, and guitar.
The purpose of the MVMTA Festival program is to provide students with the opportunity to perform for and receive evaluation from an experienced adjudicator. Students who receive a Superior rating qualify to participate in the state level All Star Festival held during the Texas Music Teachers Association annual convention in Houston in June.
